About three months ago, the Giants stole a defensive weapon from their rivals the Dallas Cowboys. This defensive weapon’s name is Chris Canty, who signed a six year deal with the New York Giants worth 42 million dollars. In his four seasons with the Cowboys, Canty had 148 tackles and 10 sacks, splitting time between playing defensive back and defensive end. He is expected to be playing primarily defensive back with the Giants since Cofield and Robbins are both coming off knee injury. Canty is only 26 years old and is looking forward to be playing in a 4-3 defense.

The Giants defense is arguably the best in the league and Canty adds to this even more. The defensive line alone includes: Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, Rockey Bernard, Jay Tollefson, Jay Alford, and Barry Cofield. Canty reportedly feels right at home with the Giants and the tight knit team and defense that he now belongs to.

What’s going on Giants fans? I first wanted to share with you some new videos that have been uploaded to Giants.com, you can check them out here. There are some good interviews with some of the coaching staff which is good because it gives them a chance for them to speak instead of just always the players.

For today’s Red Zone Report, I wanted to get your opinion on Eli Manning. Super Bowl XLII MVP he may be, but do you think he is going to guide the team this season with his two star wide-receivers gone? Let’s hear some input.

As most of us now know, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin has fired his agent Drew Rosenhaus. This was due to the fact that he has had not been given a new contract from the Cardinals. Now, as Boldin appears to be shopping for a new agent, he might be looking into a sports agent by the name of Tom Condon. Why would this be of any significance? Well it just so happens that Mr. Condon is the sports agent of Giants quarterback Eli Manning. There could be a link here, and if that was so, maybe a trade from the Cardinals to the Giants is in the books for Boldin, just maybe.

The possibilites of the Giants offense would sky rocket if they were to acquire a big time receiever such as Boldin. Although their wide receivers or young and talented, it would certainly not hurt to add someone by the likes of Anquan Boldin.
