The Giants have come to terms on a contract agreement with their 7th round draft pick of this year, cornerback Stoney Woodson. This news comes the day after announcing the signing of their 6th round draft pick, DeAndre Wright. The deal for Woodson is for 4 years and is worth $1.8 million dollars, but has the potential to reach up to $4 million with incentives. The Giants have released cornerback Rashad Barksdale in order to make room for Woodson on the roster. Woodson spent four years at the University of South Carolina playing cornerback for the Gamecocks.

Woodson is 5′11 and weighs 195 pounds, typical of a cornerback. The Tampa, Florida native is only 23 years-old and is looking to make an impact on the defense this year. I personally think this is a great move even simply for the fact that the Giants are so focused on signing and developing their draft picks. This is what builds championships as we saw in 2007. The main man behind this operation is none other than our General Manager, Jerrry Reese.
