Roger-Goodell

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has announced that he will begin his review on former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress to see if he violated the personal conduct policy. The NFL’s vice president of labor and law policy, Adolpho Birch, notified Burress that the review has begun. Goodell seems to have picked the time now to make the review, that way a decision could be made before the start of training camp in the beginning of August. He also does not have to wait for the final decision of any criminal court ruling to rule on the personal conduct policy of the NFL. On November 29th, Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh at a Manhattan night club.

If convicted in criminal court for charges of criminal possession of a weapon, Burress can face up to 3.5 years in prison.  The case has since been adjourned until September 23rd. According to the agent of Burress, Drew Rosenhaus, there are approximately five teams that would be interested in signing the wide receiver depending on prison or suspension time. Three of these times are, the Jets, Bears, and Buccaneers. There are a lot of questions going on with the saga of Burress and it will be interesting to see how this all will come to a conclusion.
