Red Zone Report – 7/6/2009
For today’s Red Zone Report, I want to discuss more about backup quarterback, David Carr. David Carr was the first pick in the 2002 NFL Draft. He played college football at Fresno State. So, if he is a first round pick, why is he backup for Eli? Well, after looking at his stats, Carr was a decent quarterback for the Houston Texans, despite at a time, being the most sacked quarterback in the NFL. Despite the Texans having losing seasons again and again, Carr had impressive stats. However, since it has been five years and not one winning season, the Texans decided that Carr had to go, because he apparently couldn’t be the franchise quarterback.
He then went on to the Panthers on April, 6, 2007. He was named the starter because of Jake Delhomme’s injury. However, Carr had suffered from a back injury, during the fifth game of the season, so he did not perform well during the rest of that season. Then, Giants fans, he came to us, reuniting with the former Texans’ offense coordinator, Chris Palmer, who is now the quarterback’s coach. Although we don’t see him much, when he comes out, he has great numbers. That’s some info for you on David Carr. Here is a video for you to look at regarding David Carr:
